The aims of the Lusaka Goldsmiths University (College) Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Degree are to equip learners with knowledge of computers and information technology and enterprise. It trains learners on the important computer and information technology skills needed for planning and effective management of business. The program endeavours to train a well refined computer and information technology professional who is versatile enough to navigate through the information technology challenges presented in business and governance today. To train a computer scientist with the ability to identify risks, challenges and opportunities in business and governance.
The objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program are; to equip learners with and enable them to apply computer systems and internet technologies skills, equip them and enable them apply software engineering skills, equip learners with user interface design skills and apply them, equip learners with human computer interaction and design skills and enable to apply them. To equip learners with and enable them apply enterprise web software development skills, equip them with and enable them apply skills in mobile devices application development, equip learners with knowledge of IT security and privacy risk management to enable them develop systems to avert the risks. Further the program intends to equip learners with and enable them apply computing education and communication skills, equip learners with and enable them to apply information and content Management skills and to equip learners with knowledge on research skills and development of research ideas and writing.
