INTRODUCTION
In the second semester of second year you considered business entities/associations where you focused on different types of business entities/associations through which business may be conducted. Companies were, among the business entities/associations highlighted there. This module now gives a detailed overview of what a company is. It starts with a brief background on what a company and company law is. It looks at how companies are formed via incorporation. The module further examines what the effects of incorporating a company are, the management of a company, directors of a company and their role. The module proceeds on to exam issues of corporate insolvency, bankruptcy and winding up of a company.
